Word Sprint Privacy Policy

Effective July 3, 2026

Word Sprint ("the app") is a writing-habit tracker made by Bryan Thompson. This policy explains what data the app handles, where it lives, and your choices. The short version: your writing data stays on your device unless you turn on cloud sync, we don't run ads, we don't use analytics or tracking, and we never sell data.

Data stored on your device

Everything you put into Word Sprint — books, word-count logs, notes, goals, deadlines, streaks, trophies, covers, and settings — is stored locally on your device. No account is required to use the app, and none of this data leaves your device unless you enable cloud sync.

Cloud sync (optional, premium)

If you subscribe to Premium and enable cloud sync, you sign in with your Apple Account (Sign in with Apple). We then store the following on our servers so your library can follow you across devices:

This data is hosted on Supabase (a database hosting service), stored in the United States, protected by row-level security so only your signed-in account can read or write your rows, and used for exactly one purpose: syncing your writing between your devices. Nobody else can see it, and we don't use it for anything else.

Subscriptions

Premium subscriptions are purchased through Apple's App Store; Apple processes the payment and we never see your payment details. We use RevenueCat, a subscription-management service, to validate purchases. It receives purchase metadata (product, price, transaction identifiers, and an anonymous app-generated identifier) — not your name, email, or payment information.

What we don't do

Notifications

Daily writing reminders and sprint timers are local notifications scheduled on your device. They never involve a server.

Deleting your data

Deleting the app removes all local data. If you used cloud sync, the app's Settings include Delete Account & Cloud Data, which permanently removes your account and every synced book, word log, and cover photo from our servers. Signing out (without deleting) keeps your cloud data so you can sign back in later.

Children

Word Sprint is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
